Worldpay has recently revealed their newest concept – a tablet-based till.
Goodbye to Cash Registers?
The new till from leading payments processor is called My Business Hub and it integrates the functions of payment devices, cash registers and receipt printers.
Operated from a detachable Android tablet, it’s designed to make the point of sale process faster and less burdensome for business owners, allowing them to make a sale anywhere on the premises – while also allowing them and their staff to order stock and answer emails on the same device. This makes it an attractive proposition for smaller businesses with less staff, potentially reducing queues and freeing staff to spend more time advising customers.
Big Technology for Small Businesses
Dave Hobday, Managing Director of Worldpay UK said: “Great technology should not be the preserve of large companies. My Business Hub sits at the heart of our strategy to provide small business owners with access to the tools and support they need to grow. My Business Hub makes running a business easier, and the way we have designed the product means it can evolve and flex to address the specific needs of small business owners. We are challenging consumer perceptions of small businesses, enabling them to provide a more personalised service and literally putting growth at their fingertips.”
My Business Hub users will also have the benefit of automatic updates as Worldpay and its partners add new features and refinements. Worldpay’s My Business Hub has been developed in partnership with point of sale company Unique Secure, while the tablet hardware is supplied by Lenovo and optimised for use with the Hub.
Innovation Straight Out of the Box
David Rimer, CEO, Unique Secure commented, “Unique Secure is renowned for our design-led innovation and we are delighted to have worked in partnership with Worldpay, a leading payments company with global reach. This partnership maps onto our strategy of revolutionizing the global Point of Sale space, giving more flexibility and functionality to retailers of all sizes, ensuring they can transact with their customers in whichever way best suits their needs – mobile, traditional or kiosk.”
Steve Kendall-Smith, Executive Director, Enterprise & Public Sector, Lenovo said, “The UK economy is underpinned by the success of our SMEs. Giving them the right easy to use tools, will help them compete with more established players, spurring innovation, entrepreneurship and growth. Lenovo, WorldPay and Unique Secure have collaborated to create a reliable, easy to use product which works straight of the box, essential for small business owners responsible for running every aspect of their business.”
My Business Hub is currently available on a limited basis and due for general release in Summer 2016, but you can register your interest now.
